"The Muntzter" has been covering the sports beat in Southeast Iowa for well over a decade. Nobody has won more awards and accolades than Lee - not to mention the appreciation of coaches, kids and parents.
In addition to his Fairfield Trojans and other play-by-play broadcasts, Lee delivers the latest sports during the morning show with Steve Smith and Emily Humble, weekdays from 6:00-8:15 a.m.; co-hosts Sports Talk, Mondays at 4:05 p.m.; and hosts Coaches Corner, Saturdays at 8:05 a.m.
Lee was born and raised in Keokuk, IA. He graduated from Drake University in Des Moines with a degree in Radio/TV Journalism. According to Lee, "My first love is high school and college sports. In high school I was a stat person and manager for the basketball and football teams; I remember seeing Mike Shea broadcasting the games and decided that's what I want to do."
Lee listened to the legendary Harry Caray and Jack Buck broadcast St. Louis Cardinal baseball games; Lee says, "At one time I dreamed of doing that ... but as time has passed, professional sports just don't appeal to me as much." Prior to joining KMCD & Hot 96 FM, Lee did radio in Keokuk, Mt. Pleasant and Washington.
Lee's family includes his wife, Debbie, and his two daughters, Jenifer and Kristen. When he's not broadcasting or with his family, he's in the stands, cheering on area teams. And Lee has one other passion: "I have always had a fascination with trains, and occasionally will even go out of the way to get stopped by them."
